I can hear you laughing! - Childish but Funny

A little boy blows up a balloon and starts flicking it all around the house with his finger.
His mother tells him to stop it as he's liable to break something, but the boy continues. "Johnny!" Mom screams. "Knock it off." You're going to break something.

He stops and eventually Mom leaves for a short trip to the shopping center.

Johnny starts up with the balloon again after his mum has left for the store... He gives it one last flick and it lands in the toilet where he leaves it.

Mum comes in and while putting away the groceries gets the urge - A diarrhea run. She can hardly make it to the toilet in time and SPLASH, out it comes. When she's finished, she looks down and can't believe what she's seeing. She's not sure what this big brown thing is in the toilet! She calls her doctor. The doctor is baffled as she describes the situation, but he assures her he'll be over shortly to examine everything.

When he arrives she leads him to the bathroom and he gets down on his knees and takes a long, hard look at the thing. Finally, he takes out his pen and sort of touches it to see what it might be and POP! The balloon explodes and poop is everywhere. On him, the walls, etc.

"Doctor! Doctor! Are you all right?" she asks.

He says, "I've been in this business for over 30 years, and this is the first time I've ever actually seen a fart!"

You're laughing aren't you ...I know you are!!!

                I CAN HEAR YOU LAUGHING!

Lenten Journey 2011

Ash Wednesday is the start of Lent for millions of Catholics around the world.  It involves going to church and during the special mass the burnt palms from last years palm Sunday are blessed and placed on the forehead of each person attending by the Priest.  When the Priest places the ash on the forehead in a sign of the cross he says "Remember man that thou art dust and unto dust thou shalt return" To non-Catholics the ash on the forehead looks ridiculous, daft etc. and I always get a double take from my wife when I get home after mass. To Catholics it doesn't really look any better but we understand it as a sign of Lent beginning.

Why get it at all??  It's an outward sign of repentance for our sins and we are all guilty of sin in one form or another. It dates back to older times when people used to spread ashes over their whole body to signify they were sorry for some action they had committed.  Nowadays a small mark on the forehead is all we get.  To see more on Ash Wednesday have a look at http://oce.catholic.com/index.php?title=Ash_Wednesday

Ash Wednesday itself marks the start of 40 days leading up to Easter Sunday.  The 40 days of Lent for myself are a time to re-look at my life.  I make more time for prayer - something I always try to do but always let other distractions get in the way.  The extra prayer time helps me feels much more spiritual and leads me to feel much closer to God.  This year I'm going to try to include the children in my daily prayer and get them to join me.  I know it may be a bit awkward with them but hopefully this helps them with their own spirituality if not now but perhaps in the future when they have a more mature attitude to prayer and time with God.  I'll be saying the Divine Mercy chaplet each day and the prayers can be found at http://www.ewtn.com/devotionals/mercy/dmmap.htm

Lent also means giving up things so I'm giving up all alcohol until Easter.  I'll miss my glasses of wine at the weekend but the whole point of giving up is to make an extra effort and experience the discomfort of missing the things we enjoy in life.  In a very small way to identify with Jesus Christ and the suffering he went through for us.  I know missing the odd glass of wine isn't suffering on the same scale that Christ went through but is is a very small step in the right direction.  Have a look at this link for more info on why we give things up http://www.spirithome.com/lent.html#givingup

Thanks for reading and I'll keep you all in my prayers.

Welcome to my new Blog

Thanks for visiting my new Blog!!

This is my 1st time ever blogging. A bit of a strange thing to do for a husband and father who has little time for this sort of thing but I'll try my best to let it all go somewhere interesting.

I have been keeping a family website going for the past year but none of the other family members were interested in making any addition's to it so I thought I would just start my own Blog.  I will be blogging about the family here but at least this way I can write from my own perspective.  The family website can be viewed here OLD FAMILY WEBSITE

About me - married 21 years, have 2 children ages 14 and 12.

I am a devout Catholic who attends mass each week, I pray as much as I can most day's. I am involved in various church activity's within the parish to try and keep myself closer to God. Also involved with St. Vincent De Paul Society.

My hobbies are watching TV, watching NBA, reading, playing on the PS3 and Airsoft.
